South Yarra Concrete.
Outstanding concrete for the residences of South Yarra — from Como Park to the Yarra boulevards.
South Yarra sets the tone. We pour outstanding concrete for a limited number of residences here each season — driveways, polished floors, pool surrounds and alfresco — drawn to the architecture and finished to hold up to the photograph and the decade.
South Yarra is a study in contrast — Victorian terraces off Domain Road and Walsh Street, contemporary commissions along the Yarra boulevards, and apartment living around Como and the rail corridor. The frontages are tight, the parking is tighter, and the laneways that serve the rear of many blocks dictate how a pour is staged. We plan every South Yarra project around the crossover, the lane and the setdown, so the finish is never compromised by the access. Heritage overlays along Domain Road, Avoca Street and Darling Street are respected and worked within — edges, joints and finishes detailed to sit with the period as readily as the contemporary.

Heritage-adjacent detailing
From Victorian terraces off Domain Road to contemporary commissions along the Yarra, we detail edges, joints and finishes to sit with the period and the architecture alike.
Laneway & tight-access pours
Many South Yarra blocks are laneway-served. We coordinate pump placement, staging and delivery timing around the lane, the crossover and the parking so the pour runs clean on a constrained site.
A considered finish palette
Exposed aggregate, honed and polished concrete, off-form walls and integrally coloured pours — selected for the residence, not the catalogue.
The quotation process
Every South Yarra commission follows the same five steps — from the first site walk to the final handover.
Site discussion
We walk the site with you — the frontage, the lane, the levels and the access. For South Yarra's tight frontages and laneway-served blocks, we plan staging and delivery around the constraints before anything is drawn.
Measure & design
Levels, setout, joints and finish are documented against the architecture and the heritage overlay. Finishes are selected for the streetscape, with edge details and thresholds resolved on paper first.
Preparation
Subgrade is excavated and compacted, base material engineered to suit the soil, and formwork set out to the planned joints and edges. Drainage and stormwater are detailed before the pour.
Pour & finish
Concrete is placed, screeded and finished in a continuous operation — coordinated around the lane and the crossover so the finish is never rushed by access. Joints cut, edges tooled, surface sealed once cured.
Handover
The work is walked with you, sealed and detailed, with cure time and aftercare explained. We remain contactable through the first season.
Choosing the finish.
South Yarra's mix of heritage and contemporary architecture calls for a finish that reads from the curb as well as the courtyard. For Victorian terraces, a honed or burnished finish in muted stone tones sits with the period without competing. For contemporary commissions along the Yarra, exposed aggregate or a polished interior floor can carry the material language from the street through to the living plane. We bring samples to the site discussion and recommend against the architecture, the streetscape and the light.
